Do you want diplomacy?

To understand someone outside your nation, you need to spend 1 skill level point out of 50 for diplomacy. I say fuck you diplomacy! Why should I waste a point on you?

I scour the official forums to get an idea if I have a chance at over turning this game mechanic and allow everyone to communicate, like it should be. I know others have had a lot to say already, but here's what I found that may be of interest.

When this is approved, (it's only a matter of time), I still want our nation chat pirate only, with the ability to filter in or out the other nations. For skirmish, allow the enemy to understand me and I to understand them without wondering, does he have diplomacy?

So now I turn the discussion to you shipmates. Do you want to see diplomacy free for all where we can all communicate?

In Everquest I would feel bad when I PvP'd (you could talk to them). In DAoC I could care less about the other guy (no option to talk to them). So far in this game it doesn't bother me to kill other nationals, but I am not comfortable with how badly anthony got tore up without any chance (We can talk to them).

I see the usefullness of being able to chat with everyone, for stuff like setting up 1 v 1's. I also feel it takes away from the Nation Vs. Nation that this game is "reliant" on and IMO no one should be able to talk to anyone from another nation at all.

From your post in the kill boards where von pooper or what ever his name is was ranting and raving I could care less if I hear what they had to say.

I'm sure my response to anyone getting in my shit would get me kicked out of the game.

In fact I have a hard enough time with some of the ridicules bullshit dribble spewed by so called pirates on national chat let alone having to listen/read what the nationals had to say.

Yes we do have an ignore button, however my ignore list is currently full and won't accept any more nominees.

I use diplo all the time, useful skill. People w/o it need to take the training wheels off. I like it the way it is, don't make it a free skill.

Aye fergus, I use it too. What did ya mean by take the training wheels off? Would ya like to instead spend the extra point on a fighting skill if you had diplo free instead ?
